Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge
All the marks on my arm? That’s from me pinching myself.
For four years, start to finish, we worked on the largest land addition in Disney Parks’ history. From naming the land, to the story, to the attractions and everything in between, this was an amazing project to be a part of.
Guests landing at Orlando International Airport will have one of the most memorable airport experiences in history. Areas of the land wold be showcased inside the airport to give visitors a quick look at what they will experience when they visit a galaxy far, far away.
Borrowing from Walt himself, the designers used the concept of the multi-plane camera to give viewers a depth and scope of the Star Wars surroundings.
The first layer was added on the front.
Then the back panel.
Combined, both layers gave visitors a depth and overall feeling of actually stepping into a marketplace in a galaxy far, far away.
The First Order would have their place at the airport as well.
And near the Disney store, we made it possible for visitors to watch the Falcon take off, interact with a glitchy droid and share their experience socially, far beyond the walls of the airport.

We worked with Virgin Airlines to create a plane and experience for their guests during the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The plane would be named ‘The Falcon” and was designed by Yellow Shoes in partnership with David Chiang, Lucasfilm VP and Creative Director.
Virgin Airlines created this video to commemorate the opening flight of the Falcon.
